A New year starts and this one will be the year of Google Wave. In this new post we talk about what we expect about Google Wave and everything related.
We read a few days ago some important news on google wave blog. They open a part of the source of Operation Transform (OT) and a basic Client/Server prototype. This basic client/server is now released to improve third party tests and encourage experimentation with the Google Wave Federation Protocol. We talked in previous posts about the federation protocol, the protocol interact with different servers and third party companies.
This prototype is a non production-quality server even though keeps wavelet’s stage in memory only, as we know federation procotol save wavelet’s stage in Wave Store. In this server we can find federation support and “toy” text client and is used to test how to “speak” wave federation. This server can be used for people who want to develop their own server. Users with this prototype server can not try to connect with Google Sandbox yet, because this prototype is in a very early stage. They can only connect with a acmewave.com and initech-corp.com. The real connection to Google Sandbox will be on September 30th. This release will help Google and developers to improve in Federation Protocol. They will tests how fast, how cool and how many problems will we have to exceed until we have a open beta tests.
To everyone who wants to try to install the client/server prototype here there is a guide to how to install and more information about this news at google groups
